Subject: Don’t Miss “Quilts for Cuties!” -- Blanket-making/Toy Drive for Stoughton Animal Shelter

From: MARY QUINN

Hi Charlotte,

My name is Mary Quinn, and I work for the Hamilton-Burr marketing agency. But, more importantly, I am an animal lover, and I hope you are too!

Stoughton Animal Shelter is hosting “Quilts for Cuties,” a blanket-making and toy drive fundraiser at their main location in Stoughton. The public will have a chance to meet the puppies, kittens and other critters that the shelter has rescued while making blankets or simply donating to the rescue. All proceeds will go to the shelter to help the cuties stay warm and happy this upcoming winter.

I think this event is perfect for your “Do Something Good” segment. Plus, who knows, maybe you will take home a new furry friend. Furthermore, if you do decide to attend, we could set up an interview between you and the Stoughton Animal Shelter founder, Sally Mascot. She started the shelter 20 years ago and has lived there ever since.

Right now, the shelter has over 50 animals who need homes, which is more animals at once than any past year. As the weather gets colder, it’s harder for Sally and her employees to support such a large amount of rescue animals. This event will help the shelter gain recognition within the community, help the animals get adopted, or at the very least, provide them with a warm blanket and a new toy.

The event is on Nov. 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stoughton Animal Shelter (1755 Williams Dr., Stoughton, Wisconsin), rain or shine. You do not have to bring anything but an open mind and open hand—for lots of pets. There will be citizens to interview as well, if that interests you. Let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Mary Quinn, Hamilton-Burr Agency
